Mid year grades

If I get deferred from colleges and I have all A’s but one C in AP calculus, how much emphasis would submitting my mid year grades have on my decision. Really don’t want AP calculus to be the reason why I don’t get in to colleges but it is too late to drop.

Nothing you can do about it if that’s a final grade, at least at the schools that require mid-year grades. You can talk with your HS counselor and ask that they not send your mid-year grades to all schools (if that’s their typical policy), but only to the ones that require them.

Whether or not it impacts the admission decision depends on many things…the overall picture of your grades and rigor, the major you are applying to, whether you submitted an ACT/SAT with a solid math score, the selectivity of the school, etc. etc.

Good luck.

It’s hard to know how much a C grade would affect your decision (it will also depend on where you applied, of course), but if colleges want to see your mid year grades, you’ll have to send them.

There’s one factor you might be able to control, however. Any chance you can get that grade up to a B?

First quarter ended with a 77. Right now at an 82 for second quarter however a very hard exam coming up.

Do your best - it’s all you can do.

No matter where you were deferred, there are easier admit, like- in-type or style universities.

Make sure one or two are on your list.

If you tell us the where and budget, we might be able to offer up some names.

There’s 100% many fine schools out there for you. If they don’t take you, their loss is another’s gain. You don’t need them. They need you !!

Best of luck.
