<p>I essentially know what they are, however, what is their weight in the college admissions process? When are they due and must they all be reported before your decision?</p>
<p>They are due around early February, preferrably as soon as your first semester grades are out. Mid-year reports are given considerable weight in the admissions process, as senior year is often the most rigorous and college-prep oriented school year. Adcoms want to make sure you are prepared for college-level work and haven’t come down with a nasty case of senioritis. The exception is for EA/ED schools, where the midyear report will only be used as a “checkup” for accepted applicants to ensure their grades haven’t dropped dramatically.</p>
<p>End-of-year reports, by contrast, are just to make sure you haven’t completely screwed up. A few B’s are nothing to worry about at the end of the year.</p>
