Mid-Year Transfers

A friend of mine transferred into NYU midyear. As a West Coast kid, I made the mistake of going to an Eastern school when am now regretting this decision and longing to return. But as a rising junior, I’ve already missed the deadline for Fall '07 admittance.

So does anybody know if Stanford accepts midyear transfers or is this option available only to certain institutions and not others?

most of the top/elite schools don’t accept schools mid-year.
but what makes you think you’ll get into stanford though? -_-

since you’re a rising junior and you feel very confident in your chances, you might as well apply to cal or ucla if you want to head back west. you’ll just have to lose a few credits.

After founding two successful startups, one of which I’ve sold at the beginning of this year, I realized that where I really belonged was back in the Valley. As for my chances, I hope I’m not getting ahead of myself for saying this but I think I have a fairly good shot at being accepted. Even with the competition, which I hear is pretty crazy, especially for transfers.

I just checked with Stanford’s website, which only lists the Fall application. Which leaves me in an uneasy position. Preferably, I’d like to spend at least a year or so studying and working in the Valley to get a start on some other initiatives I have planned. Without midyear apps, I’d have to wait out my junior year and try again for Fall of '08. And transferring for my senior year of college doesn’t sound very reasonable, even though I could probably justify it to myself. I wonder what options are left, then?
