Middle Eastern thread!

Studying for A Levels… I hate biology!!! Wednesday’s our last day of school, thank God. I’m sick and tired of walking up and down the stairs with an elephantine load on my back.

Hey all! I’m an Indian from Qatar (the Middle East), currently deciding between Michigan State U and U of Western Ontario for Business. But, I’m more inclined towards Western, so I guess I might go there. Any opinions on both these unis?

Yay…another mid-east Indian! Woo hoo!

I’m not very into business…I don’t know much about those colleges, but I’m sure the others can help you out.

It is a tough decision. Both are very respected, but Western is supposed to be #1 in Canada. I would probably lean toward Western, but MSU is not to be underestimated. Broad is #1 in Supply Chain Management and the school has much to offer in terms of social life.

Hey all, I got my acceptence letter to the students exchange program at UNC Chapel-Hill, I really hope to go for a semester or 2, studying in the states seems like so much fun!!!

whee im new to this forum…indian who used to live in bahrain for 10 years…so i consider myself pretty loyal to the Mid-East :)

i live in canada now…so if anyone has questions about canadian unis feel free to ask…

abcdeeing - western is a great uni but i would recommend MSU…i dont think western is the best in canada for business by far…i dont know much about msu but if you think its a good match, i’d recommend it over western

Hey woot! Welcome  Dan, do go, it’ll be so much fun! I’d love to study abroad when I go to uni. In Athens, or Florence, preferably!

egypt here woohooo

I’m from Israel. Not exactly going to college yet.
Dan- could you tell me a bit more about your exchange program?

Hey guys.
I live i London, but my blood is fully lebanese (both parents born and raised there). So just thought i’d say wats up.
I’m going to Princeton in autumn and so will be representing the middle east there!

Yay, congrats, London! How many other people from London were accepted into Princeton - do you know?

bambi, heya! Where do you think you’ll be applying?

london - gahh you’re so lucky…london is my favourite city in the whole world…by london im guessing you mean london, england and not london, canada…

congrats on princeton! what were your stats like?

I like London, but I much prefer Paris! hehe London is one of the 4 or 5 favorite cities in Europe, along with Barcelona and Berlin, but Paris really is special.

I’d say a group of 20 or so of us from the UK got in (yes London, England!), about 10 from london…
I couldn’t agree more with u college woot, and i’m quite sad to leave this place
My stats were: 11 A*s at GCSE, 5 As at AS level, 1450, 800,720,710…plus lots of extraCs and sports…

I am originally from India but was born and brought up in the UAE… moved to the US last year and am doin my high school here… I miss Dubai :frowning: :frowning: … can’t wait to go back for my summer break despite the HOT weather.

Hey guys! I live in Cali, but I’m full-blooded Iranian.
I’m still a junior, dunno where I’m gonna apply.

Hey Bambi,
I guess you are still in HS, anyways, once you do get to college just ask at the “foriegn affairs office” if the university you are going to holds such program. the rules are pretty simple, you go for a semester or 2, pay to your home university as if you were studying back in Israel, the university which will host you must have an agreement with your home university, that kind of narrows down your choice of a host university.
obviously your host university will provide housing services etc… that’s just about it…

Hey guys what kind of schools do you go to? Ex: American, British, International,…?
Just wondering!

I went to an Indian school…

I graduated from a Lebanese/International school that follows the British patern of education but also offers the IB and the American diploma.
