Congratulations everyone! My daughter is a freshman at Midd and has had an amazing first semester. It really is a special place – if anyone has any questions about anything, let me know! :tada:

Congratulations!!

My kid graduated from Midd in June and she was also a Posse Scholar (from Chicago 8), and a Neuroscience major, as well. Midd loves its Posse scholars.

Has anyone gotten info on financial aid yet? Does that come later?

S24 so stoked to be going to Midd next year. the college process (first time, eh?) was stressful but it was some relief to have these kinds of shared messages to connect with… next time around (D26) i will be back here. thanks :sunglasses:

It should be in the portal with the acceptance letter, ours was there!

Curious–did the acceptance letter say how many ED1 applicants there were? I’m wondering if Midd got more ED applications after accepting almost 70% of the class early last year.

It didn’t say I don’t think. Not only did my daughter get in but the other three kids who applied early from her grade also got in, 2 for Sept 2 for Feb. Kind of amazing!

Enjoy the latest version of the Midd Kid song:

Midd Kid 2.0, you can find it on YouTube.

My S24 was accepted as a Reg, Class of ā€˜28.
We are from Brooklyn, NY.

Congrats to all!

I forgot, but for you, some #PosseLove

Hi! Thank you for the Posse  my son is a Posse scholar from NYC! He posted above. I’m so excited for him!

Hi, my son is considering ED2 to Middlebury. His hesitation is that he’s not a skiier or outdoorsy type. Would he feel left out if he’s not a skier? He’s worrying about little things, I know. Otherwise, everything about the school seems amazing.

My kid didn’t ski, and her only experience while at Midd was one afternoon on the bunny hill. She wasn’t really outdoorsy until she started attending Midd, either. She became a lot more outdoorsy, because it’s so beautiful outdoors during every single season. Hiking in the fall, and even the winter, jogging when the weather was nice, etc.

There’s also a lot to do for kids who aren’t outdoorsy - a very good friend of hers who’s still attending Midd is a lot less outdoorsy, and has a very active social and cultural life.

Thank you!

Question to all EDII applicants: Have any of you gotten an email for an interview yet? I applied well before the EDII deadline and still haven’t gotten one.

If it’s helpful, my daughter applied ED this fall and was never given an interview and was accepted! She had also applied well before the ED deadline…

That is helpful, thank you. And great for her! If you don’t mind, could you share a few stats about her application?

Sure, she didn’t submit her SATs, she has a 3.9 GPA. She’s the editor for the school literary journal, a feature writer for the school newspaper and a writer for a city wide high school newspaper, co-captain of cross country & track (not running in college though), co-head of the environmental action committee and part of the climate coalition committee, performance coach for school choir, she has been in every school play and musical, community service project focused on working in nursing homes doing oral history … she has some advanced classes, like advanced math every year but not all advanced classes. Let me know if you want to know anything more specific!
