Hi everyone. I recently got an email from Middlesex thanking me for submitting my application. They talked about emailing decision results on M10 and being excited to review my application.
The thing is… I didn’t submit my application. Just the candidate profile. Never wrote any essays, or gone through any interviews for this school. I forgoed working on my Middlesex application a while ago and this email really surprised me. Did they mistake another applicant for me? Are essays and such optional for Middlesex and is that why they sent me this email? I’m so confused, my parents told me to ignore it but if anyone has any insights on this, it would be really helpful. Thanks!
My best guess is that they mistakenly sent it to all potential applicants (those that submitted an inquiry or profile) rather than just those who completed applications.
FWIW, there is one school (relatively well-known) that heavily emailed my son and I all fall following up on our interest and we had never sent them anything at all! We just ignored them and they stopped after application deadline.
Okay, when I saw your comment I was like 'aha! of course," but my app was apparently STILL evaluated even tho I didn’t complete required materials…drumroll…I got waitlisted. For a school that I didn;t even apply to. Just thought it was funny!
My son got acceptance to one school in TenSchools.org where he had submitted only the candidate profile, and had taken the interview, but towards the deadline, he did not get time to do the essays and hence I didn’t pay the application fees. We didn’t know his application was being considered, and was totally shocked when we received an email acceptance on M10, and soon an acceptance package by courier.
They emailed me for transcripts and test scores. For context, my son was homeschooled, so I being his academic advisor, was the one who sent transcripts to all schools.
Recommendations, some of them were auto submitted to all schools from the portal
We interviewed but didn’t apply. But they sent us an invitation to submit materials beyond the due date, which surprised us. Something tells me the new HOS inherited a mess on the admin side of the operation.
One conclusion: MX has the most beautiful campus of all the schools we toured. Just stunning.
