Middlesex has a COVID-related essay prompt this year: COVID-19 has had an impact on people across the world. How has it impacted you and what have you learned about yourself?

Is this prompt genuinely asking all applicants what they did during quarantine and what they learned or is it a space for people who were severely impacted (COVID-related death, additional work responsibilities, etc.) to write about their struggles?

I would interpret as all applicants. But not "what I did in quarantine ". It could be about how you realized being with friends in person lead to different kinds of interactions with them. It could be that you found school work less interesting remotely. It could be that you discovered joy in some solitary pursuit such as…
