I am a Computer Science/ Computer Engineering major.

tell me, what are Mids? where I come from it’s a grade of weed.

@jkeil911‌ It’s like reaches, mids, safetys. In terms of colleges selection

I might have heard of that before, come to think of it. Thanks, @sonofgod908‌.

Are you female, and would you attend a women’s college?
Do you like large, medium, or small schools?
Are there any regions of the country we should rule out?

@jkeil911‌ I’m a male lol. Im good with coed. I just want the best educationally-speaking that I can get into.

Maryland CS would probably be an easy mid, UIUC would be a higher mid, and UMich would be a reach.

What is your state of residence? Your safeties would include one of your state’s public universities.

without more information, OP, I can’t help you.

Many OOS schools can be expensive, but some might give you a scholarship for your stats. How much will your family pay?

The W score doesn’t really matter. You have a 1430 M+CR, which is about an ACT 32.

Tell us your home state and how much your family will pay each year (ask them, don’t guess), and then we can help you.

@mom2collegekids‌ @jkeil911‌ @fogcity‌ I live in NJ. I don’t really care about the money. I just want to study at a good university. Money is the least of my concerns.

Well, having been through the research process last year with my son, I can tell you that there are distinct differences between programs that you will also want to consider. If you’re decided on your major, you may prefer an engineering program that lets you specialize after only one year instead of two. Also, do you want a co-op? It extends your time in college but offers great pre-graduation experience. Some schools have a high level of participation and a lot of support for the program; other schools emphasize getting out in four years and have no or only a token co-op option. It’s up to you what fits your plans best.
