If they send a letter requesting midterm grades, does that mean I’m a borderline applicant? It seemed from their website that they only request them from students that might not have great academics, but I thought my academics were the strongest part of my app (5s on 3 AP exams and one 4, 2150 SAT, straight A’s in the middle A range through all of high school, honors and 7 ap courses)… i thought i’d been fairly consistently strong… why would they need my mid year grades? or is this standard protocol for everyone? i received a letter specifically requesting them.

I believe this is standard protocol.

When did you apply for USC?
I didnt get a letter specifically requesting grades, but I heard that if you did not get the Presidential Scholarship, that that was the specific request.
Also, is it required to send the mid year grades?

My stats are not as high as yours and I didn’t receive a request for grades. I did self report though. On my portal site and Oasis account, it says all information has been received so I am guessing they don’t need anything specific from my school. Maybe they need grades for some of the “other” scholarships that many people have mentioned as coming late March? Maybe its a really good thing?

on second thought, I think I may have gotten that letter because I did my online report form pretty late… I wasn’t able to log in and had to call several times to get it working… so maybe they just sent letters to those that didn’t do the online report or did the online report fairly late
