Midwest State Testing ACT Discussion

grow up…idk…sounded beter

Ooh that one stumped me too
It was like “all I have done was grow up” or “all I have done is grow up”

neither really sounded right…Idont remember what I put

wait so for the triangle one, the answer was 5, 6, 12? cuz i think that’s the one i put
cuz it said EXCEPT right?
idk… whatever it’s not like i can do anything now.
they dont care if you talk about the questions right? cuz i kno that ur not allowed to talk about the essays

^^^ U scared of the ACT people???
and i think I out grow up as well…question sucked

since it says “all I have done” you need to keep it in present tense, so “is grow” as opposed to “all I had done” which would be “was grow”

why didn’t the ship building guy buy parts?..cost?

anyone remember the light density one? had chart looking things for answer choices

mmm … i actually liked this ACT compared to the Feb one. I think it might have been since I studied wayy more for it so I felt way more prepared.

English - easier, there were some tricks, but with some thought could have been done
Math - Easy for the most part, but the matrices killed me, seriously, that is Algebra II stuff, long time ago >.<
Reading - Hard to really get into, especially that “teacher and WWI” one, ugh…
Science - Easy overall.

to Smarty99, he didn’t buld the parts bcuz of his creativity (i think that was a choice …?) and the light density one … mm … is that the index of refraction? I don’t really remember that well. Also, to the punnett square, i saw that earlier in the discussion, it should have 3/16 because in biology, those genetic with dihybrid crosses is a 9,3,3,1 (the 3 refers to the recessive gene showing) so that is the right answer.

Good luck to all of you!

For the building parts one it was because of his creativity; in the first paragraph it talks about him choosing parts and it was all like “…reels and spools. But then, I decided to scrap most of that and just go with some sails and rope.”

The science is always the hardest part. I didn’t think it was too bad this time, though. Pretty sure I knew all of them.

I ran out of time for the reading section. Does anyone know the answer to how they chose the “hot spots” or whatever it was?

For those in IL, the PSAE was a breeeeeze.

I thought the ACT was pretty easy overall, too. I took it in October and got a 33, and I think I did better on this one (except I missed the ruler one, forgot to add in the 0/8 mark…). So I’m hoping for a 34…maybe even a 35?

My essay sucked, though. I didn’t finish it. =(
At least I’m not looking to go into journalism…

hot spots were chosen based on soil composition and elevation…something like that i beleive

Can let me know what the curves where for this particular test being discussed (64D)? I took the December 2011 test a weeks ago in TN and it was this one it seems (as the questions are definitely identical).

Thanks (and sorry for the bump) :)

Bump.

Anyone?
