Essays, Recommendations, and Interviews:
My greatest downfall during my college application process was the amount of time I allocated to write my essays. I brainstormed, outlined, and wrote all of my essays for Northwestern, Rice, Pomona, and two other private universities in the span of two weeks. I also wanted to apply to Stanford and Williams, but I couldn’t make the deadline. Although I wrote on matters of great personal importance, there’s no denying that I’m a bit disappointed that I wasn’t able to execute my essays to the best of my ability.

I waived my right to look at my teacher recommendations. I did, however, read my additional recommendation letter from my mentor at the NGO I’m involved in and it was extremely moving (a bit too personal to reveal on CC).

As for interviews, time was once again an issue. I wasn’t able to schedule any interviews before the deadlines. Please let me know how detrimental this would be to my application :(

A few Miscellaneous factors:
I’ve applied to each university as an Economics Major.
I have a light legacy (aunt) at Rice.

Thank you!
