Military Science Major/Minor in the UC System?

<p>Hi fellow CCers,</p>

<p>Is there such thing as a Military Science major or minor in the UC system? I’ve seen some things posted here and there about military science, but a lot of what I’ve read seems to point toward military science classes or ROTC programs, as opposed to an actual major/minor.</p>

<p>No, there are no such majors/minors in the UC system.</p>

<p>But they do have ROTC program.</p>

<p>I know UCSB L&S offers undergraduate major in military science for ROTC but I don’t know if that actually leads to a degree in MS. I think most military science programs are co-opted with the military in some capacity, and usually involvement a measure of commitment after graduation.</p>

<p>What about that “making your own major” business I keep hearing from people about? Would it be possible to claim that classes from ROTC make a Military Science major?</p>
