Milton Academy-questions about student support and enrichment

How is student support at Milton in terms of educational, advisory and placement? For educational- is there a writing center or someplace other than the teacher where you can get help if you’re stuck. For advisory- do you get a group and advisor and stick with them all four years? For placement- do you think the school does a good job advising students on the process, and helping them make good choices and do students seem to be getting into the schools they want to go to, or do you need to hire a college coach? Thanks

Hi again @dromeas, I hope this isn’t too late to be helpful. In the basement of the library there is the academic skills center which facilitates all forms of tutoring as well as just extra help. You are placed in an advisory with the intention of it lasting all 4 years, however, if that does not work you can easily request to change. The school has an incredible advising system for colleges. I can tell you that despite not every single year of Milton being my best, I was accepted into 15 of the 19 schools I applied to and waitlisted at another two. You most certainly do not need an additional college coach. The college counseling center operates as team such that you can meet with any of the 5 (ish) counselors at any point and they will all have access to your file and be able to help you out. They are incredibly well versed in everything college and manage to simultaneously help reduce stress
