I’m attending Saddleback right now, but am planning on transferring to Orange Coast next semester due to the fact that they don’t specifically require you to take a speech class to get your AA. I know you only need 45 credits to get it without a major(which I don’t have). So, what I want to know is…

Do I need to complete a certain number of credits at OCC to qualify for getting my AA there? Let’s say I have 42 credits already from Saddleback. Can I do 3 credits at OCC and be done with it?

Nope. The general guidelines for any CCC’s typically require 12 units for residency and at least 24 units to qualify for a degree or that college’s transfer program to be granted from the currently attending college.

Unless there was an emergency or situation where you couldn’t finish a degree at one CCC, one would have to take at least 55% of a degree program to qualify for a home institution granted AA/AS degree, which requires at least 60(or 90) units.
