Mind blowing, awesome books to read over the summer?

Pokemon’s always a good read, but…I’m currently reading (or moreorless stopped today) Harry potter and prisoner of akskaban…incredibly boring…never got into the HP series. PG 100ish…argh.

I’m trying to read at least a couple decent books this summer and harry potter just precluded my efforts…a week (like 20~30 min daily) and still pg 100. gawd.

I’ll try this:

I’ve heard of it and always wanted to give this a try.

Note: Don’t read harry potter the 3rd one. 1st was slightly bearable, 2nd was pretty decent, 3rd is…atrocious. 4th I won’t even bother.

A relatively new novel, but Dance of Death and its sequel Book of the Dead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child are…phenomenal. Very well written. Andromeda Strain and Sphere (both by Crichton) were amazing as well.

Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides.

Absolutely fantastic.
