What do people think of Minerva University?
Love the model, but that acceptance rate- oh my.
Personally, I would apply (if I were looking for a college), but I wouldn’t count on anything.

I suggest you look up a website called Defund Minerva, which I can’t link. It is interesting. That’s all I can offer on that college.
Very informative.
After reading that I would hedge my bets by looking into the visiting scholar year:
For the benefit of readers, this is what Minerva is about, per AI:
“It has no traditional suburban campus or large lecture halls; instead, students attend interactive seminar classes online while rotating to living-learning cohorts across global cities (like Seoul, Hyderabad, Berlin, Buenos Aires, and London).”
Total fees can run up to $54k per year. It abandoned its free model two years after it launched in 2015. It is no doubt an interesting experience at the very least. It might suit a highly independent person who wants to travel. But it has no established reputation, probably due to being a very new university. All classes are online. It was also intitally a for-profit model.
Caveat emptor comes to mind, but it might yet prove to be very successful.
