mini suv recs

Anyone have any thoughts about the Suzuki awd, it’s one of the few under $20K with AWD?
How about the mitsubishi crossover?
Might look used, but the interest rate is higher and after spending so much on car repairs this year I would like a lengthy warranty.

Check out the Hyundai Tucson - very reliable vehicle, you get a lot for your money, pretty decent mileage for a vehicle like that (around 30 I think), and it has a great warranty.

I like my Subaru Forester

I love my Toyota Forerunner–don’t know if it’s a mini-SUV, but it’s one of the smaller ones. It’s very reliable, gets decent mileage, and is super in the snow and equally as good on beaches where you can take a 4-wheel drive vehicle. It is one of the Toyota models that hasn’t had a recall.

The Suzuki SX4 is indeed the cheapest all-wheel drive standard car in North America. It’s getting a bit dated though - many of the cars with a recent redesign will top it in terms of equipment offered and performance. However, SX4 may still be a good value, although I don’t see much of them on the streets these days.

By mini-SUV, I gather you are looking for something a little bigger than a hatchback (like the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, etc) but smaller than a compact crossover SUV (Toyota Rav4, Nissan Rogue, Honda CRV, Ford Escape, etc)? If so, there are only a few options that fall in between - perhaps the newly released Nissan Juke or the Mini Countryman. Or, you can look at the Scion xB which is a hatchback technically but its boxy shape gives it a lot more cargo and people room than you’d expect. I also like the recommendations above of the Tucson and the Forester - two good cars, both pretty manageable in size, and the Subaru’s also come standard AWD on every car.

All of these cars mentioned will likely be in the 20,000-23,000 range, however. The exception being the hatchbacks (15-20) and the Scion xB (17ish i believe)

I LOVE my Subaru Forester!
