I know there isn’t an official minimum SAT score to get into Yale, but if I don’t play any sports and my EC are good but none really stand out, what SAT score should I get in order to get in?

THANKS!!!

If your ECs are weak enough, you likely won’t get into Yale with any SAT score. It really depends… If they’re strong but not on the grand scale (i.e., nothing outside your area–maybe some leadership in school activities), you have some chance with a 2250+ (even lower scores are possible, depending on your area and circumstances). Your location matters: if it’s Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Long Island, the standards will probably be higher than for places like Wyoming, South Dakota, and Montana. In other words, admissions is extremely subjective, and there is no definite score we can give you. Just apply and do your best on the SAT. GL.

There is none.

Well, while there isnt any one specific “minimum score,” I will say this. While Tres Elefantes anaylsis was dead on, I very seldom see non-hooked applicants get accepted with less than a 2300+. Though, of course, I am positive some people get in with lower than that = D.

The higher the better, but there is no minimum.

seriously, ****.

Dude, it doesn’t matter what we think here, we’re never going to know the full details. Don’t freak out. They they the middle percentile or whatever is 700+ but that doesn’t give any idea what the lowest could be. Schools like to make out that they have great stats because then they look better. But in terms of admissions, who knows what the cutoff would be if the rest of your application is great. Good luck to you.
