Mink Teddy Bear?

Hello - Have any of you Moms inherited a mink coat and had it made into a teddy bear? I’ve seen several web sites where you send them the coat and they send you back the bear. If so, please post your experience; are you pleased with the result? Thanks.

I’ve never done it but I’ve seen ones made with recycled mink coats and they were beautiful.

My mother in law gave me a mink jacket of her’s years ago. I will never wear it and it has been sitting in the closet forever. I think I would rather have a teddy bear, even at my age!!

My mother turn hers into a bomber jacket with leather time and all the granddaughters have worn it at one time or another.

One of my friends had her grandmother’s mink stole turned into throw pillows for her bedroom. The front is fur, the back is fabric so they aren’t as bulky.

Ooooh! I have a gorgeous persian lamb fly-away jacket given to me by a beloved aunt. I’ve never worn it - sounds like a cool idea!

A bomber jacket sounds cool…

My mom: mink coat
Me: bomber jacket
My D: What? It’s not cold!

Guess I’m feeling a little weird sending something that valuable (esp. sentimental value) to a stranger and hoping they send something back.

Could I make a suggestion?

Come on- let this fur do an animal a little good.

I just donated my late mother’s full length mink to a garage sale for Haiti.

I’d donated my great aunt’s mink stole to my community theater.

I personally would pass on having a mink teddy bear, but to each her own. :)

Has anyone ever taken someone’s old mink coat and had it remade for themselves? How much does it cost??

I’m liking the teddy bear idea. I have two mink stoles (inherited).Thinking that I could enjoy them for awhile and then gift them to my sons’ first borns.

My son had a friend whose grandmother gave him a mink teddy bear. It was his “security blanket” all through early childhood. When the boys reached middle school, they used to hide it when they played at his house. I once got a call at midnight from his mother: “Your son is so nice–woud you please ask him where they hid Teddy? My son can’t sleep.”
