Minority scholarships

I am interested in Howard University; a historically black school. Being caucasian, would I be eligible for a minority scholarship if I applied there?

Being Caucasian at an HBCU, you would definitely be classified as a minority ON CAMPUS. However, if it’s a scholarship offered by Howard, you would need to contact their FA office to get specifications. Otoh, if it’s an outside scholarship (one offered by an organization/group other than the school), it would depend on the donor’s definition of a minority and their eligibility criteria.

Many HBCUs have scholarships for minorities, which on their campuses are defined as students who are not black. Contact Howard and look at their scholarship website to find out if you’d be eligible for such aid.

I’m pretty sure they do. There was a white student who graduated a year before I did at my all-black HS, and he went to an HBCU (can’t recall which) and received diversity scholarships from them.
