MIS Masters with no previous experience!

I recently graduated with a criminology BA and have never used it. I got this major in my plan to go to law school. After graduating I decided to just take a year off to study for the lsat and save some money. During this time I was not working in my field (I’ve never really used my BA). I didn’t work in the field because most of the jobs were in other states and were not worth moving for the pay especially since it would only be for one year.

I have recently decided to NOT go to law school. Turns out its not what I want to do. I have decided to go back to school and get a masters in Information Systems Management or go back to school and get a BS in CS.

I would prefer to go for my MIS Masters rather than the BS but i am worried I will not be able to find a job because I do not have a technical or business degree or any previous work experience in the field.

Opinions/experience on any of this would be extremely helpful.

A master’s in Information systems management and a bachelor’s in CS are geared towards very different job positions. The master’s will point you towards IT department sysadmin type jobs whereas the CS degree will be more software developer type jobs. By the time you graduate with either degree, you will have the skills required for technical jobs even if your previous background is non-technical.
I should point out that at many universities, coming into a master’s program from an unrelated field is possible but they will require you to take undergraduate level courses that won’t count towards your master’s degree to build a technical knowledge foundation before letting you take any graduate level courses that will count towards your master’s degree.
