<p>i got a misdemeanor for disturbing the peace (fist fighting) the other night because i got in a fight at the bar/lounge. ive never been in trouble except for a speeding ticket here and there. will this affect me greatly in the long run? or is there a way i can get it dropped or something. this was in the state of louisiana btw.</p>
<p>i don’t feel like going deeply into details and how i know, etc. but trust me when i say this that in the long run this will have a very small negative effect - probably none.</p>
<p>now this does not mean you should go and get misdemeanors every weekend. one will matter very little for grad school, med school, etc.</p>
<p>Stay out of trouble from now on and you’ll be fine.</p>
<p>I believe in most states you can expunge or seal your records after 5 years. No worries, just take one less drink next time and don’t start wailing back…</p>
