Umm fudgeness…I just realized that for UConn’s accelerated, they wanted the undergrad app on Dec. 1. What’s going to happen if I send it in tmrw, the 5th? Will they chuck it?

if its on the desk by the time they read it, you might be safe. Otherwise it goes in the trash.

Blaaah. what if my GC writes a letter of some sort?

I would just send it, don’t worry about it too much - I missed the deadline to Dartmouth regular decision by four days, and I still got in!

kk thanks. dartmouth’s an awesome place, btw…spent my summer doing research there :)

hey, were u near dartmouth med school? i’ve never been up there, but i’m considering applying to dartmouth med…

hey sar, it’s me…the person who talked to you about sophie davis a few times. yeah apply!! it’s sooo beautiful + it’s the oldest medical school in the country. I was in the building right next to the school, the bio labs at gilman.

hehe hi there! S—a, right? (edit: sorry, i almost left ur name in the open) I still have our 2 exchanges in my yahoomail account. So, are you still applying to sophie? How did the second SAT go?

Thanks! We’re supposed to be told about a dartmouth med visit date soon. I hope it’s not too expensive to visit. isn’t it cold up there, though? i don’t really like the cold…

i hear they’re also talking with einstein and mt sinai… but i don’t think it’ll happen in time for my year. o well. lol

yup it’s me
still doing sophie (still my first choice!)…haven’t gotten around to the app yet cuz it’s one of the sane schools that have a deadline after the new year; dealing with those before right now. hey were you at the open house on 11/16? lol that was the day that the 4th years/5th years were getting their match envelopes for med school…my friend and I were standing by the drinks table when these two students walked by…the guy goes ‘yeah, my a_ _ is gettin drunk tonight!!’ we stared after them in horror, shocked that sophie kids behaved like that (except not really, it was actually just hilarious) and the kid saw us like ^ ^ and he had the decency to come back and apologize and explain that he was just a very happy person at the moment.

anyway, the second SAT + another subject test went great…i underestimated myself because of my much lower scores earlier…i went up 190 on the SAT, which was awesome, really happy about that.

yeah, it does get very cold up there…i was also at dartmouth in feb 05, they have snow all winter long…but even though i’m a city girl, i really fell in love with the new england charm…it’s beautiful every season of the year (for some reason i’ve had this urge to go see dartmouth in the fall…IMO the best season of them all)…if i get into sophie, i’m going to cosider doing dartmouth. even though my plan has always been to stay in the city (a city, at least). in any case, i feel that if you can deal with NYC in the wintertime, it’s not too much worse, so don’t let that stop you from applying. i’ll give you an update on sophie as soon as they let us know who’s making it to the interviews >.<

oh btw, when/if you go to visit, don’t stay at the Hanover Inn…it’s a (huge) ripoff for $250+ a night or whatever they charge…I had a hard time believing it was worth the $100/night I paid through my mentor’s discount when I was there for a weekend in Feb. Look at the hotels in West Leabanon, which is only 3 or 4 miles down the road…they have Best Westerns, etc, which would be more practical. You can take advantage of the bus line from there back to the med school.

Great going on the sat! ^_^

I think I was in the lounge for a while that day. i saw visitors touring the lounge and i saw some sophies’ futures unfold… people crying, hugging, jumping, etc. lol I can’t believe that’ll be my class in a year!

Thanks for the NH tips! :-)
