I missed the interview request deadline, which was 4 days ago. I‘ve been super busy with mid term exams and work so I completely forgot to sign up. I know Northwestern does not put you in disadvantage for not getting an interview, but can they put me in disadvantage because I didn’t sign up even if I got an email to sign up? I’m cryinggg
If you read the words of alumni interviewers on here, they say their feedback has little to no impact.
NU themselves say Alumni feedback is included in your file, but not participating in an interview has no negative effect on your chance of admission.
So I wouldn’t worry.
Odds of getting admitted are slim. And if you don’t, you’ll never know why. But I wouldn’t worry.
The deadline has passed. And it’s likely of zero concern.
Good luck.
You aren’t even in college yet and you have already learned one of the most important lessons that college can teach you! You will have periods during college (wherever you go) where you are so preoccupied with studying for a midterm that you forget to go to a professor’s review session on “how to submit a research proposal”. You will be so caught up with the research proposal that you fall behind on your problem-sets for a different class.
Now you know! Figure out a way to keep track of all your important deadlines- whatever system works for you- and check it regularly so you don’t miss anything.
Agree with TSBNA- not a big deal. But a great life’s lesson! My dad was dying- but I still needed to file my taxes, show up at work, make sure my kids had dinner on the table, put gas in the car so I could get to work in the morning… That’s just living your life…
