I am missing my first college semester at Rutgers University next fall because of military training. I am already officially deferred to the spring semester of 2012. My question, will my social life be drastically changed, altered, or screwed up because of missing this first semester. I am just putting two and two together and realizing all of my brother’s friends, he met during his first semester on his floor. So has anyone on here done this? If so tell me your experiences. I guess anyone who transferred in between somewhere was or is in the same situation. So any info will be appreciated. I will be in Army ROTC and other clubs, but I just am kind of worried that the other freshman will be established everything between each other. Please answer this seriously as this question has been going through my mind. I am not incompetent in meeting people, I have just had my same group since early childhood. Sorry for rambling I would basically like to know if anyone has had any similar experiences, thank you.

A lot of people do make friends during their first semester, but it isn’t hard at all to fall in with a group second semester, especially if you’ll still be in the dorms. You’ll still be meeting a lot of people in the dorms/classes/wherever, they’ll just already know other people too. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

If it helps I made almost all of my friends Sophomore and Junior years.

Thanks, anyone else ?
