<p>Would Stanford bother calling a GC about a missing document such as a mid year report or teacher rec if they were probably going to reject the student? Because I know some people that are worried their teachers forgot to turn in recs, but they haven’t heard from stanford.</p>
<p>On another note, I heard from a GC that stanford is very hard to get into for people living outside of California. Anyone attest to this?</p>
<p>in the past stanford has been a bit prejudiced towards cali students but with a new dean of admission from the east coast (Yale), i can see this year being more “diverse.” also i have a weird feeling that because this is Dean Shaw’s first year at stanford, he will try to set some sort of precedent so as compared to previous years, there just may be more non-californians. </p>
<p>and about your friends, did they receive an email or anything? most of us did saying simply that our application was complete. your friends should really call. it couldnt hurt even if stanford is a bit annoyed with them for calling</p>
