Missing information in Common App - grounds for appeal?

So, I was rejected ED1 by the Tisch program. I was super bummed, but I’m starting to, albeit begrudgingly, accept it. I was going over my CA before I sent it to other colleges, though, and I found that, on my Dashboard, the status of my CA was “Incomplete.” I checked it out and found an incomplete section called Required Explanation that was NOT present when I applied to NYU.

I emailed my regional NYU admissions counselor two days ago, asking if the omission of the Required Explanation had any influence on my admissions decision. Should I give the main admissions office a call when they open on Jan. 2nd? I know NYU doesn’t have an appeals process, but I also heard that there could be exceptions if there’s some missing or new information brought to the school’s attention. Should I message CA support? Any help would be appreciated, guys. Thanks.

It can’t hurt to ask. The first thing I would do is contact CA and see if you can glean any further insight from them as to how that happened and then perhaps they will provide you with some helpful info you can present to NYU admissions.
