Missing Letters of Recommendation?

Hello, I am a SEAS applicant and i just got an email from Columbia saying that they are missing information from my application. I went to the application status website and it said that my letters of recommendation were missing. The email asked for the information to be resent, but since my recommendations were uploaded separately by the teachers I asked, how would I resend the letters? Should I ask my teachers for printed copies and mail them to the admissions office? I’m asking because the email also recommended not calling to the admissions office. Any advice on this would be appreciated, thanks.

That seems to be the most obvious remedy. I’d fax them or send them scans however – not snail mail.
