Because kids get drunk, and while they’re intoxicated, they injure themselves or pass out outdoors in the cold. And some of them die.

Whatever the outcome, I would be surprised if alcohol was NOT a factor.

Cold spell in Seattle, young man falls through thin ice and dies. Happens some place every year too. Young males think they are bulletproof.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A Purdue University student who’s been missing since Saturday who only had one drink at a fraternity party before he disappeared, his parents told FOX News on Friday.

“From all indications he had one drink, and the kids that I’ve talked to have sworn to me that he wasn’t intoxicated,” said Dale Steffey, father of 19-year-old Wade Steffey.

This kind of thing is so common at the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse (located on a river) that there is an active controversy over whether the deaths are due primarily to intoxicated missteps or the work of a serial killer.

That’s horrible news PrimetimeMom. The family must be a wreck.

SuNa, that’s really scary.

We get past the years where you don’t let them out of your sight, and start to relax a little, but even as young adults there’s so many bad things that can happen.

The family is in our thoughts and prayers. We have an only child, son, who is at freshman at ND this year. It has hit home for us–we are praying for a miracle!!

““From all indications he had one drink, and the kids that I’ve talked to have sworn to me that he wasn’t intoxicated,” said Dale Steffey, father of 19-year-old Wade Steffey.”

That’s true of everyone who ever attends a frat party.

Hope they find him well.

His cell phone signal was narrowed down to a place on campus but despite searching the area, it hasn’t been located.

My son goes to Purdue and it seems to be a very safe campus in a small midwestern town. It’s very hard to imagine foul play there and I’m hoping that’s not the case. I have to say that I’ll be somewhat on edge until they find out what happened. West Lafayette seems to be doing all they can at this point.

An update on the on-going search.
