Some schools ask if their students want to “go green” and opt in for download-only 1098-T. See if your kids’ schools do this. My kid did this at her school.
TurboTax Freedom edition did an automatic import of W-2 for me. However, they are not able to do this for all employers and you need some key info including employer’s federal ID #. You are supposed to have your W-2 in hand to confirm all entries.
The TurboTax Freedom edition, not to be confused with the Free edition, can only be accessed via irs.gov.
Because of the weekend, this year the deadline for W-2s is Feb. 1, and it’s a postmark deadline, so nothing is late yet.
Medical expenses have to exceed 10% of her AGI and then would only help if that amount exceeded her standard deduction. That’s a LOT of medical expenses.
