<p>Mississippi State vs Univ of Michigan
My son applied to two summer programs and having a tough time deciding. What do anyone out their know of these programs? The program at Miss. State is a 3 week Engineering Research program called Quest for rising seniors only. What my son likes about this one is the opportunity to do research and that it is open only to those at his grade level. The UofM one is the Math & Science Scholars program. It is for 2 weeks in a specific course…he chose Astronomy…he also has an interest in Astrophysics in addition to Engineering. This one is open to all high school age levels. His concern with this one is the chance of all younger kids and not many seniors attending. We know of the reputation of U of M as a whole but do not know much about Miss. State and/or this program. Any ideas?</p>
<p>I’m biased since I don’t know anything about the Mississippi State program, and this will be my 4th year working at the Michigan program. I’ll just say that in my experience, you don’t have to worry about there not being many students your son’s age at the Michigan camp. If you want, you can probably get exact numbers from the past few years if you e-mail the head of the program.</p>
