Mistake on Nass application

I just had a quick question. I applied a while back to NASS and for my grades I put all A’s because I thought my average for the year was between a 90 to 100 for all my classes including Chemistry. However, I was looking at my transcript and I saw that I actually received an 89 for chemistry and I thought I recieved between a 90 and 100. So now one of my grades is wrong and NASS acceptance letters are going out. Does anyone have a number of someone I could contact to correct this? I did not put the grade in to decieve admissions in to letting me go and I am just worried that if i got accepted it would be based on a faulty application.

i would ask your BGO about it. personally, I don’t think 1 grade (that is off by 1 point) will make or break your application to the program. I actually did the same thing, except I had accidentally checked off a B, when I actually had an A (the grading scale that the academy uses for that 90-100 is different for my school, and i forgot to take that in to account…) and I just didn’t bother fixing it for the application.

my bro (twin) applied to NASS also, and there was something messed up with his account, so he was told to FAX his application. he even received a confirmation that USNA had gotten it.
then when the letters started going out, and the deadline for the deposit was approaching, he called the USNA office handling the NASS applications and learned that his application was actually not received by them…and had slipped through the cracks.

so yeah, i’d suggest telling your BGO so they know…
you can give the admissions office a call too (just ask to speak to someone about your summer seminar application…and see what they say)

gluck

Curious … what’s become of your twin?

in my opinion he sort of lost the motivation to finish the application and decided towards the beginning of senior year just not to finish

he doesn’t really know what he wants to do with college/future right now…so he wants to go to a normal college and try to figure that out.

reapplying for c/o 2012 is a possibility…as is OCS

i really do think that if he had the opportunity to attend NASS that motivation wouldn’t be an issue and we’d both be in c/o 2011 together

I do not think 1 point is going to make a difference… weight is placed on your PSAT and/or SAT scores…

best of luck!

Guys I got in but i sent the email correcting my mistake out to admissions a few days ago. I have not talked to my BGO yet but i am hoping to talk to someone directly from admissions. I feel bad. I hope i didnt take someones place because i messed up on the one grade.

Don’t worry about it. One grade will not make them revoke your offer. Relax.

One B out of all As IS NOT a huge mistake. And there’s no way someone else deserves it more, trust me. I only had a 3.5 for freshman/sophmore years, and probably the same for midterm junior grades, and I still got in. So if you’re looking for someone to tell you you’re a great student and to not worry, then keep bugging the NASS admissions board about it, they’ll eventually cave in and tell you. Otherwise, just leave it alone and feel proud about your accomplishent.
