Mistake on transfer college application

Do I even have a chance now?!

I’m in California & I have finally finished my ADT (transfer degree) & I applied to 5 colleges for this upcoming fall. I found out that although I stated on the Cal State Apply website that I have and ADT in English, I was suppose to choose a specific major at each school so admissions could view my pathway. I did not realize that was an option and I picked English as my major. Now my counselors are saying they will instead view my major prep as my pathway. A few of the classes in my major prep are offered at the community college, BUT some are cancelled because we can’t get enough students in them. Now it will look like I haven’t completed my major prep and I have been told that many of the impacted colleges will deny you simply because you did not finish one class!

Has this happened to anyone?
Would an appeal be a good idea if I am denied? I could show them my degree…

I applied to:
-San Diego State

  • CSUSM
  • CAL POLY SLO
  • Channel Islands
  • UCSB (this situation doesn’t affect my chances)

If it matters: Female, 3.45 GPA , English major,

I’d contact the schools directly and ask if you can update your application.

Thanks. I will try. I was told by the transfer center that the universities will no longer allow students to fix this type of mistake, but in previous years they would.
