<p>I did not waive my right to read my recs. I had never even heard of this whole “waive your right” crap until just now on the common app and I’ve already got my apps from my teachers and have read them. My teachers never even asked me if I waived my right or not. Based off this and the fact that most of my friends have all read their recs it seems that waiving the right must not be that common at my school although apparently it’s pretty common everywhere else from what I’ve read on CC in the past 20 minutes. The funny thing is, it’s a good thing I did read them because one of my teachers accidentally said I was a national merit semifinalist when I’m actually not. </p>
<p>Is this really that big of a deal?</p>
