MIT Class of 2015 Early Action Hopefuls

Let’s talk about something less nerdy… like Physics!

Did you know that if the world were flat, it would still be true that nothing can fall off the edge of the world…because of gravity?

But gravity would be a LOT weaker on the edge than in the center.

So we would end up with strong short fat people living in the middle countries… and tall loose skinny people living in the edge countries…

Speaking of Physics (sort of), does anyone else here enjoy the Big Bang Theory?

we watch big bang in my physics class sometimes if we have a shortened period…so much fun

That show is awesome. I am watching it right now (on DVD). I love Sheldon’s board game Research Lab, “The physics is theoretical, but the fun is real!”

In physics we watched old educational movies put together from the 90’s.

May I make a note that while the clip art is notoriously ugly, it’s actually quite efficient in explaining the theory of relativity?

Unfortunately I’ve never had the opportunity to watch the Big Bang Theory…

Hahaha, so nerdy up in here xD

I feel kinda sad I haven’t even done integration yet cause I’m only in lowly Calc AB, hahah

Anyone here watch Glee or Sing-Off?

I’m enjoying the atmosphere. 8)

Actually, I don’t watch any kind of TV… does anyone read manga? Aha.

Nope, I am in AP Stats this year. It isn’t math at all. After getting a 5 in BC Calc last year, I am so bored in that class. I wish we had AP Physics C so I would have something to do.

Hey guys!

Took about a 3 week break from the forums for various reasons. With decisions coming up, thought it would be a nice time to come back!

How’s everyone?

I am the “white and nerdy” kid in my school. That song is pretty funny though.

I’m actually obsessed with Glee as of this year. It’s weird, because I always used to laugh at everyone who watched it. And now I’m a Gleek…

Wait, I love that song and music video! When I discovered it in middle school I fell in love.

NewAccount! Hahha, I thought you disappeared XD Welcome back! Excited is an understatement, haha

Yea, it’s just kinda awesome to say the least. I am such a Gleek too xD I have been actually not listening to Don’t Stop Believin that way if I get into MIT I can blare it and it will sound so sweet, haha.

I don’t watch Glee. I prefer comedies. Welcome back NewAccount, I think we all kind of thought that you had disappeared.

This is quite interesting. I hope that everyone realizes that the reason this thread turned “nerdy” was all my doing…

Hey, I’m happy to spread the joy!

d/dx.

I find it funny that you feel the need to assert yourself as the creator of a conversation. One could argue the conversation turned nerdy due to the person who commented on your statement not due to the actual statement.

Haha, sorry for the scare buddy. :stuck_out_tongue: How’s school and everything been?

Well, it was bound to happen! We are in the MIT forum, after all.

Thanks! Hahah, my bad. How are ya?

@ Dkerstiens

Ummm… I see your point.
But I uttered the first derivative, d/dx!

d/dx.

Partial Fractions FTW!

“Next time your significant other finds your creepy sex toy, just do what this guy did.”
