MIT Class of 2015 Early Action Hopefuls

590 was last year’s. I am going to guess that this year they admit 617 early. (Random estimate)

Hint: If everyone here guesses a number between 580 and 654, we might be able to guess the exact number of EA admits this year!

629! hahahaha

May the force be with you all. :)

hahaha so true, I’ve been on CC basically all morning…

I’m going to guess 654. :p

Have you guys looked at the Yale SCEA results thread? It’s seriously depressing.

I know. I was just reading through it because I’m applying to Yale RD and wanted to see stats. They deferred sooooo many people. Hopefully we have better results tomorrow :)

Eeeeee… bracing for rejection over here! Hoping for a defferal. Yearning for acceptance. Tutoring after school until 4. Then, my best friend is coming over and helping me bake teacher Christmas presents. So that should bring me to about 5:30. Then an excruciating half hour to wait until 6… West Coast babbayy!

Ohhh and I’d have to say… carry the 5… multiply by pi… take the second derivative… 638. Yaa… that sounds about right. :)

so its 9PM Thursday Dec 16th here :P

Does anyone have any idea what exactly the message will say when you login whether you’re accepted/deferred/rejected. I’ve heard the MIT acceptance letter doesn’t start with the word congratulations.

@Tauseefk

It would be interesting if they worded it “We would like to thank you for spending your time to apply for the MIT class of 2015. Because so many talented students apply, we would like to inform you that you have been accepted.”

I’m completely freaking out right now…so nervous! I really really really really really hope that I will be accepted in slightly less than 11 hours.

@RazorConcepts

Haha that would be unusually cruel :slight_smile: I don’t think I could get past the first line

Anyone predicting that MIT is going to be as cruel as Yale?

I feel like MIT is going to be worse than Yale. I don’t know why…it just seems like it will be worse.
I’m really hoping I’m wrong though.

I’ve heard through a couple sources (counselor who spoke with the regional admissions officer for my school), that EA results are not going to be pretty this year…

I think considering that there’s been a significant increase in applicants, there are naturally going to be more amazingly talented people that don’t get accepted.

^What exactly does “not pretty” mean? I’m assuming that it means a low acceptance rate, but given that the applicant pool increased and the college is likely only accepting a few more students than last year, it’s quite logical to assume that the acceptance rate will decline. Nothing surprising there. Doubt it’ll affect CC admissions much.

9 hours, 27 minutes. I am so nervous!
i want to thank everyone who’s been posting! i seriously went to this site multiple times a day, and i think its the only thing to keep me sane the past few weeks!

Good Luck to everyone! hope you get a tube!

haha alright, staying off CC for the next 9 hours (and hopefully going to get some sleep), GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! :)
