Congrats on those accepted! Son was WL - pretty surprising to us and he didn’t even check for an hour. Given MIT only let people off the WL in 4/5 years, we’re not holding out any hope. Time to move on.

congratulation! how you show your collaboration that MIT cares … in your essays? Obviously you have a solid GPA, borderline SAT… MIT also cares diversity…your kumor, Tennis seem not showing “collaboration”, more in responsibility, maybe resilience/Grit?
MIT cares about diversity but cannot take it into admissions consideration unless to show overcoming some adversity (but not the diverse status by itself). This students seems great in all respects and I’d like to think she proved herself to MIT during her summer work there. Congrats!

Daughter accepted. We did not put much hope on it. And one hour earlier, she received a likely letter from Columbia as well. Yesterday was her birthday - the best birthday present so far! What a snow day afternoon!

What does she wanna pick ? Columbia is a real college with real alumni associations and superb grad programs.
So amazing, congratulations! You must be so proud, I hope you are all celebrating (and that she takes tomorrow off from school and sleeps in, she deserves it!)
Thank you. We’re actually on spring break. So she’s definitely celebrating. She’s still waiting to hear from a few more schools but MIT was at the top of her list. Congrats to everyone admitted.

Daughter was deferred then wait listed! Argh! Accepted to ND, Texas A M, SMU, Villa Nova, Washington and Lee, still waiting to hear from Princeton, Duke, Rice. I think it’s an interesting mix she applied to, but she was so picky about the location!!! I read some of the stats of admits and she is identical to many!!! I’m just happy they thought she was worthy to be considered! There is always MIT grad school!!!
