MIT Class of 2030 Official RD Thread

congrats!!! you’re going to do amazing things there!

thank you for this reminder. i definitely needed this.

as for my other prospects for engineering, i’m strongly considering my in-state option (VT). i got into their BME program which i’m super happy about. i also got into UCI and UC Davis, both for cogsci. if i end up attending any of these schools, i want to do an engineering related minor.

i did also get the $30k Fulmor scholarship ($7.5k per year) at UC Davis, so it’s tempting, but thankfully, money is not a huge deal as i have a college fund. and even with that scholarship, my in-state school is still cheaper, and i believe it will provide a similar quality of education.

basically, i want to do a combination of engineering and neuroscience (like computational neuroscience) but i’m unsure what school i should go for…

and i still have tons of schools to wait for. i’m expecting more rejections, maybe even all rejections—not tryna be pessimistic, just realistic—but maybe i should wait before i jump the gun. it’s all so confusing! and sorry for the rant!

Denied as well, as expected. I think the alumni interview was a great experience for S26. It was like 3 hours :joy:

Thanks for your wishes! I wish the best for you too wherever you decide to go:)

Thank you!!

thank you so much. and ofc!!!

was just scrolling past your profile. Congrats on Berkeley as well as your MIT acceptance! Might be an obvious question but will you consider any other colleges besides MIT like Berkeley MET. Curious that given MET at Berkeley is also very notable selecting 50 students for their cohort each year what made you pick MIT
