hey guys…good luck if u have’nt gotten anything yet…good job & congrats for the ppl who got in!

Yeah, sorry about that. I do read through the thread almost every day though. I still haven’t gotten my letter either, same boat as you guys.

XiΞiX, you should go to MITES.

It’s almost an E, but missing the vertical line. It’s… just… Ξ

Narcissa! I was looking at your stats profile - OMG! You’re incredible. A junior, yes? You make me look bad.

Maybe you should go to YESS it was the hardest to get into. Whatever you do you’re opening to waitlist spots. You didn’t already have to reply to SSP

I didn’t get the materials through the mail yet (I turned in my application two days before the final deadline, sent it 2nd day). i wish it comes soon, their financial aid would definitly decide where I’m going.

I got accepted… there’s been many changes to what i’ve done since i turned it in, and i’m almost done with calc so i feel prepared to be there this summer… So add me to this list!
It was funny cuz i have a 5th period home period, and i came home to rush the mail man, and surely enough he gave me the envelope! it was cool, but somehow a lot of people at my school knew like i didn’t even tell my principal that I applied and when i got back onto campus for 6th period he came up to me and said congratulations when i hadn’t told anyone yet…

To who ever this calculus09 person is YOU ARE A JERK.
and what’s it’s to you?
Sorry kidd but unless you copyright that anyone can say it all they want.

yea, the calculus guy needs a chill pill, did he even apply to MITES?

But anyways, congrats sakura! I knew you’d get in! Now if only mine could come…tomorrow. If it doesn’t come tomorrow I might just go nuts. I’ve been anxiously waiting since Friday for the mail…sometimes I just want to email MITES and ask if I’m in… I know one thing though, my school cares zilch whether or not I got in, it doesn’t even know that I applied. My principal definitely won’t do that…

Ouraqt: but you got into MITES! and … ur taiwanese? im taiwanese too maybei should have applied but I didn’t think being taiwanese was good. Plus I am not financially…disadvantaged in any way, according to colleges.

I think that hardly anyone who applied qualifies under all of their standards.
Like I’m a URM, but I don’t make it financially by a lot…

Thanks Izhang I’m sure you’re going to get in too ^.^

Ouraqt I live in Central Cali. (sort of) in Santa Cruz like 2 hours south of San Fran. and you?
Oh if you leave out of San Fran we might be able to leave together!

Congrats everyone!

Still waiting too, pmlee1, which state do you live.

If everything was sent on Thursday (which seemed to be the consensus), there should be people with rejection letters. I think some people are not being honest here…

I really don’t know. But there aren’t that much MITES applicants here. And if you take out the 4-5 flyins, I doubt that there’s even 15 applicants. And of those 15, not that many even got the letter it seems. So it just might be a coincidence and because acceptance rate is supposedly twice as higher this year.

Even accounting for the small sample size, it is statistically unlikely everyone here (even the lurkers) got accepted.

Unless of course, students from this forum are better the average applicants. ;)

Yes, that’s another thing that I thought about. Students who care enough to even lurk on this forum are obviously more serious about MITES and therefore have better applications(but this doesn’t go for everyone).

hey friedrice, where do u live?
maybe the mail will come tomorrow.
Since somebody here said 400 ppl, it seems smaller than last year’s applicant group (someone said the numbers on another past thread–don’t remember which one). So the acceptance rate here could be higher than last year (which would be good news for us!)

gosh. i officially hate rice university. lol.
i got a huge white envelope from them today & i thought it was for mites.
yeah. i haven’t received anything yet either.

I think I got the same envelope and had the same reaction too!

I live in Washington State. It’s strange the some people from California already got something on Saturday and I still don’t have anything.

Well, we’ve been saying that for the last two weeks.

This is true. Seriously, I will not be surprised if it doesn’t even come tomorrow. I’ve been let down that many days that I almost don’t expect it anymore.

Well you guys just keep your hopes up, i mean the letter does say 400 and i don’t think that wrote 400 if like 700 or 800 people applied so chances seem good, i think many of you have way better stats than i do so i’m sure you guys got in… it’s just the mail delivery system’s fault…
