MIT MITES @2015

Does anyone think that if I took Physics I at MITES (that is, if I even get accepted), then I could bypass Honors Physics at my school and just go straight into AP Physics?

@didierdrogba I know that Physics I at MITES does not grant you COLLEGE credit, but I think you could probably talk your way into taking AP Physics next year without having to take Honors Physics. I am doing that this year; I am taking AP Chemistry without having taken Honors Chemistry last year, and am doing the same next year with AP Physics.

@Iamquiteloud‌ Awesome! Thanks

@wifipassword I’m in the AICE Program as well! Are you aiming to get your AICE Diploma by the end of this school year? And yeah, ever since the AICE Program was incorporated into my school, the focus has shifted more towards AICE classes rather than AP courses, so yeah, it’s unfortunate not having that. That’s why I have to take some AP classes via Florida Virtual Schhol

@Iamquiteloud‌ Actually, I believe that I’ll receive the AICE Diploma next year.
I took three courses last year (AICE General Paper, Music Theory and Mathematics 1 and 2) and this year I’m taking AICE English Language and AICE Physics. Next year, I’ll take AICE English Literature and AICE Chemistry.
A lot of the AP classes that I would like to take or have taken are in my school, so I don’t have to resort to taking any on Virtual School.
Hopefully, colleges and universities around the country will recognize the AICE program and view it as rigorous as AP. Some colleges don’t know what it is

Does anyone know what day the mites acceptances come out?

Does MITES superscore SAT? If yes, what date what you put when it asks for one test date?

@Karenlynn they usually come out mid to late April

@purrples I don’t know. Have you tried emailing them?

They do take super scores… It was in an e-mail they sent out ~2 weeks ago:

"3. Do you accept superscores or can I only submit my scores from a single sitting?

Keeping in line with the MIT Admissions standards, we will be accepting superscores. You will have to turn in copies of all the score reports you are using for your superscore. If your superscore uses Math and Reading from one date and Writing from a second date, you will need to upload copies of the score reports from each date. **Please note: You can only upload one file for each type of test, so you will need to merge your score reports into a single file for uploading. www.pdfmerge.com is a good pdf merging resource, in case you happen to need one."

My guess is the date doesn’t matter.

Tonight at midnight…

@Iamquiteloud‌ What?

Oh lol @didierdrogba I was just referring to the fact that the application (all parts of it, including the teacher’s recommendations and test scores) closed yesterday

@Iamquiteloud‌ Oh haha gotcha

and now we wait…

Anyone know when exactly in April? Like what week

@didierdrogba‌ like the last week of April. I was reading last year’s thread and that’s when they got their responses

So what did you guys talk about in your essays?

hey guys :stuck_out_tongue: I was accepted into E2@MIT last year and it was a great experience! If you guys have any questions let me know. I know applying is over, but if you want to know anything let me know! Hopefully I can offer some wisdom :slight_smile: And yes, the decision for us last year took foreverrrr. It was literally at the end of April I believe, lol.

Well hopefully it’s earlier than that. The website says it’s mid-April
