Because the portal changed, does that mean its likely the decisions will be released tomorrow or very soon?
@ReadyForTheWind yep, I meant there’s 18 days until the end of the month
Do kids who get accepted into E2 and MOSTEC tend to have very high chance of getting into MIT/Harvard too, like MITES kids do?
@ZucchiniSoup Gosh, wouldn’t that just be fantastic! I wish the decisions would be released tomorrow. It seems like everything is pointing to tomorrow since it is literally the middle of April plus the portal changed, which could mean they are done viewing the applications and are ready to send out their decisions!
If tomorrow is the big day, good luck to everyone and don’t forget to come back to the thread and tell the rest of us whether decisions are out or not!
LOL this feels a lot like the day before Christmas
It states on their website that a majority of the students do end up getting accepted and going to those schools @ZucchiniSoup
What time would we be notified during the day to check our portals? Anyone knows from previous years?
Hello Guys I just made this account because I applied to MITES and I just wanted to talk to someone as nervous as I was!
@tylersims97 great to have you in the thread! As you can tell, there are lots of expectant vibes around here! I totally get how nervous you are. Hopefully the Big Day comes as soon as we expect it or at least anytime soon…
@Iamquiteloud It is great to be hear! I only wish I had found this website sooner, but I guess this is still better than later. I am super excited and I can tell from reading other post that everyone else is as well. I can not wait until the results!
I think admissions might come out soon, the MITES app website is now blank…
@ZucchiniSoup only 3 students from my school applied to mites last year and all three were accepted to the three different programs.
The one that got into mites also got into MIT, Harvard, Stanford (full ride), Yale, Tufts, And Brown. And got rejected from Princeton
The one that got into E2 got into duke, Cornell, Columbia, Penn, Michigan, WashU (full ride), and UF (safety). Deferred and rejected from MIT, rejected from Stanford, wait listed from Harvard
The one that got into mostec got into Cornell, Michigan (full ride), UF (safety), Georgia tech (full ride), and deferred and rejected from MIT.
Ultimately there’s a weak, but evident correlation bc the one that got into mites did get into the better schools. However, ivy leagues are all lotteries and impossible to get into regardless. Don’t sweat it
@baller55 do you mind telling me which school those 3 students attended? i live in Florida as well so im curious to whether know that is…
@baller55 let’s all step away from trying to make correlations with a single data point from each program. That’s bad statistics.
Yes, especially since no one knows how strong their profiles were and if they could have gotten into these schools even if they hadn’t attended the programs.
Hi I am new here. I applied to MITES as well and I am nervous!
I understand exactly how you feel!
Will they email us?
last year, decisions released on 4/25 11:59PM on the portal
@f2000sa Last year was unusually long wait, they had several technical difficulties.
Does anyone know the date they found out in 2013?
I’m also an anxious MITES applicant. Good luck to everyone!
