Mit sdm

Hi - I’m a transportation engineering student at NYU-Polytechnic beginning work at the NYC MTA (public transportation). I have an MS in real estate finance from NYU and have been a real estate analyst for the past 3 years, but am committed to making my career in transportation system planning and engineering.

If I am able to work into a leadership role designing transportation systems and earn high marks in my engineering masters, what chances do I have of getting into MIT’s SDM program (assuming high GRE)? Please don’t hold back critical remarks regarding quality of academic institution (or anything else). I’m a big boy and can handle truth, but please be as honest and frank as possible as it will influence my decision-making over the next few months.

Thank you.

Probably none of us on here know about the SDM progarm, let alone how to get in. My experience with grad school is that work experience/research is valued highly, though. It’s not like an award to get the smartest people. They look for people who are going to apply their degree and have shown aptitude in it.

You probably would be better off contacting the program and asking them directly, or asking them for alumni/student contact info so you can talk to them.
