MIT vs. Stanford vs. Chicago (mathematics major)

The schools’ websites don’t really give me an idea of what the schools are really like. All have, as far as I can tell, equally good math programs–at least at the undergraduate level. I only have time to visit two. Any thoughts?

I could relay what I’ve read, but you might as well find the first hand accounts yourself on the <a href=“Art of Problem Solving”>Art of Problem Solving; (mirror site to AOPS) forums.

OK I can probably help you here. Just, you’ll have to tell me what you’re looking for! They’re all strong schools, and you can do great things at all. Instead of telling you “go pick based on fit” or some nonsense like that, I’m going to venture and ask – is there really room for your having preference among departments?

BTW, they also have equally good programs in the graduate level, though it’ll depend heavily on what you would want to study.
