If anyone needs the PDF let me know… but … you would need to use Xiggi’s method to do this… and it will take time to fill out…

hmm could you explain this whole PDF thing or link me to the thread?

Well the PDF thing is my idea… if you priviewed the MIT APPt… then you can find it in your temp files (do a search of files for ’ .pdf '… ) they should be called something like preview–2.pdf , preview–3.pdf etc… they will be there if you did not restart your computer and used MIT’s ‘preview’ pdf thing…

You then would need to use photoshop to fix w/e you need…
or if you dont know how to use photoshop… it would be fairly easy to do this … if you have access to a copying machine (to remove the DRAFT crap at the top and bottom)… the problem is if you need to EDIT certain things…

Anyways then you just use Xiggi’s method to pritn lables for the right date … method described here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=133201&page=2&pp=20

Woohoo, I have a copy of their app and an acrobat reader editor…

But all of my essays and EVERYTHING is in there so I can’t put anything down. :S

Hey I could make some money off this … does anyone wanna do my other applications and I’ll fill in your MIT thing :p

Guys… you always back up your apps… AND if you previewed your app like I said… and have not restarted your computer… then you have the entire app on your computer.

I might do this… dunno if it’s worth the trouble though… quick job in photoshop… couple of clicks… to get my labels… and I’m done… but meh.

EDIT: There is so much you guys could do… if you have those preview.pdf files i’m talking about… if all you needed to do was submit your essay… you can add that very EASILY… even with a copying machine… just print out your essay in Word… (Font = Courier, margins should be like 1" or something)… and “super-impose” the two papers… and bam

Or go download the gimp… its really easy to use…

Second thought… the Xiggi method doesnt work since the mailing label will still indicate tomorrow’s date… oh well

Here’s an alternate Word method: Set the form as a watermark. Be sure to uncheck the washout box and set the watermark scale to 100%. Set all page margins to zero. You’ll be able to see the form as a background as you type in Word. Although the form will appear a bit faded on the screen, when you print, the document will look just as if you typed on a blank form with an old-fashioned typewriter.

This is not for the faint of heart, though, since you will have to continually change your line space settings in order for the typing to appear in the correct place.

I just did BUT… I think they will extend the deadline… (technically they already did… if I was able to submit just now)… but then again…

theonekid -> the server automatically accepts after the deadlines, I think, so it’s not guarunteed that they won’t be upset or whatever. Not that I’m saying that I think they will be. :)

'Gratz on finally getting your app in, and good luck for decision time.

Dont expect to get in… that’s why I wasnt too worry and was just trying to find solutions for everyone else who did worry… Anyways…it was a good learning experience…

Good luck to all of you… !

I’m just glad that I got all my other apps in before this one… the essay on it just held me up like crazy.

guys it worked
i submittted it at 5 AM(stayed up pressing the refresh button, lol)

good news for procrastinators: (straight from ben’s blog)

I see that the server seems to have been down yesterday. It’s working fine for me today, so hopefully that issue has been resolved. MIT is observing the New Year’s Day holiday today (1/2) since the real holiday falls on a Sunday. So you should be able to submit stuff today as if it were still 1/1 - and no, you won’t be penalized for being a day late.

wow… you people were contemplating committing mail fraud :(
