Post season fun. [BSO And St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Throw Down In Epic World Series ?Brass-Off? | ARTery](http://artery.wbur.org/2013/10/23/bso-slso-world-series)

Why oh why is Tim McCarver still on tv?

It’s like Keith Jackson for college football: 78 when he stopped and way, way past interesting or useful as a commenter.

Love James Taylor…

Back to St. Louis all tied up!

Last year to listen to the bombastic, know-it-all McCarver. And he’s not a nice man, either. Bravo to the Cards! I am a diehard American League supporter EXCEPT when the Red Sox are playing. :)

Is he retiring, momof3sons?

Twenty years ago Wednesday night, we were at the game where the Blue Jays beat the Phillies to win their second World Series. It was great to be there as I grew up going to Phillies games and have now lived in Toronto for most of my adult life.

Really, momof3sons, even this year when the city of Boston has been through so much?

alwaysamom, I understand that McBombast is retiring after this year.

yes, Viewer, even when the city of Boston has been through so much. I can love the city, which I do, and hate their sports teams, which I do. I went to school in Boston for seven years and know and love the city. Not the teams. ;)

Why in the name of heaven should a person like the Sox because of the Marathon bombing? That’s senseless to me.

I heard that stuff even when they were playing Detroit. Ever lived in Detroit? I have. Boston is about 10,000 times nicer … so who “deserved” support? (Answer: it’s sports, not sociology or politics.)

I was rooting hard for Detroit, Lergnom! I had written more about “all that Boston has been through” but deleted it. You said what I was planning to say, only differently, better and nicer. :)

I’m so tired of this crap. Yes, even after all that Boston went through this year. Why should it have any affect on a sporting event? So because St. Louis wasn’t “fortunate” to have two bombs blown up in its city, it doesn’t deserve a championship?

Wow, tough crowd. I didn’t know everybody had such strong feelings about this. It’s difficult to have any kind of discussion on here.

I don’t see this as a tough crowd, just one that does not like to be lectured.

In 2006, there was some talk that people should support the Tigers in the World Series because Detroit was going through such a tough time and the team had such an inspiring story. The Cardinals won anyway, and the Onion covered the story brilliantly, as they so often do with sports.

Tied score of 4-4 in the 8th. This is a great series so far.

TonyK,
Agreed! The Cards may rue the day, or the inning! when they didn’t blow the game open.

Havent watched the television, but I thought this was a nice ( Cubs related) story.

Quite the wild finish in Game 3. The Cardinals now lead the series 2-1.

judgement call by an ump decides a WS game…not good. I guess Middlebrooks was supposed to either barrel roll out of the way or just disappear

It was the right call.
