MMSS information

i was wondering what the “perks” of being in MMSS is and what exactly it is

MMSS is a highly rigorous mathematical program for majors in social sciences (economics, sociology, political science, anthropology). It focuses on stuff like statistical methods applied to problems you would find in these social sciences (really vague…sorry). Participants in this program take two required advanced math classes per quarter, each quarter for two years (the other classes will likely focus on fulfilling general ed. requirements). The following two years are spent fulfilling majors and minors.

Graduates of the MMSS program get essentially a double major degree, one in their social science major and the other in MMSS. It’s pretty prestigious and shows grad schools/recruiters that you are smart, well-educated in those ever-underrated fundamentals, and willing to work hard.
