As a senior recently accepted to Northwestern’s MMSS Program, I was wondering how the social scene is for MMSS students. Is it possible to join fraternities and party a couple times a week with such a rigorous course load? Or would it be easier as a math/econ major? Though academics are a priority, I would still like to thoroughly enjoy college. Please let me know what you think.

Yes absolutely it is, as long as you’re smart enough. (Yes, you’re smart. But you’ll find that even at NU there is quite a range).

MMSS is rigorous but the workload isn’t really that much. It’s mostly about understanding the materials.

McCormick kids have heavier workload, probably by a pretty good margin.

About half of my MMSS class went Greek, which is higher than the campus average.

If I could have a social life, then all undergraduates can have a social life.
