Sorry @Alumother. I must have mixed you up with another blogger. I am still getting the pop up on my iPad. It was the TerriJon post, I couldn’t search for it with the pop up. You were stunning in the dresses.
Hi guys! Happy to see you too:). And thanks for the kind words. I LOVED the TerriJon dresses…here’s the link in case it is useful in any way. http://amidprivilege.com/2014/03/event-dressing-rest/ TerriJon continues to make dresses I like quite a lot. However, they aren’t inexpensive.
Sorry everyone, I finally figured things out. Usually I would have searched before I posted but having problems with these pop ups, ugh!
Ok the blog with the post from David’s Bridal is from a blog called style at a certain age. It was on June 13, 2017. I would post a link but I don’t think I can. The dresses are really pretty.
I got the bloggers mixed up because they are both stunning women with gorgeous gray hair.
Maybe it’s just me but the first David’s dress in that blog looks like it hangs funny on the bottom which makes me question the quality of construction.
That’s a very pretty dress from Davids…but it’s a little too low cut for me…and I don’t see that it comes in a petite size, which I would need with a natural waist dress like that one (otherwise…it will have way too much fabric between the waist and shoulders).
Can I enlist the resources of all you wonderful women to help me with a dress for the SOG (sister of the groom!)? She is standing up for her brother, but still considered part of the bride’s wedding party. That group has been told only to wear floral - no additional direction, though they all seem to be wearing long, so my D will as well. She has tried on 15 dresses and none is right. She is 5’7.5, with an ample chest, long legs and usually a size 6. The little spaghetti strap dresses with deep v’s do not work for her. She can wear strapless. I’ve scoured the usual suspects - BHLDN, Nordstoms, Bloomingdales…even Saks, though I’d rather not pay that much. Help!!!
I’m on my phone so I’m having trouble linking. But I saw Eliza J dresses at Nordstrom in pretty florals. Plenty of long dresses, mostly with a halter not spaghetti straps.
I’m figuring she has tried some of those on and maybe they didn’t work?
Modcloth, I forgot about that site. Thanks, @BunsenBurner. And @deb922, yes, she’s tried on quite a few of the Eliza J dresses. I see a few more I might order.
The BHLDN dresses are lovely and there is one, http://www.bhldn.com/product/inesse-dress, she may end up with. She is in NYC, so she went to the Anthropolgie with the BHLDN line in the store. I’ve covered all these bases (and have the credit card charges and return to prove it!) but was wondering whether anyone knew of any more obscure places to look. I think the problem is that these are not her usual style and she’s trying to fit in with the rest of the “bridesmaids.” She’s so sick of this that she told me she was “taking a break from floral” for a week or two and then she’ll find something.
That’s a pretty dress. (BHLDN Inesse). The nice anthropologie dresses all seemed to be tea length. At my brother’s wedding all the bridesmaids wore floral Laura Ashleys - except one who never wore anything but black. Hers was a solid color sort of a grayish lavender. Luckily my sil got how outside her comfort zone even that was and the color was in sych with the other bridesmaids.
