I just checked again. They’re out of my size.
Love your dress @VeryHappy !
Do,they sell them anywhere besides zappos?
Good question. I’ll investigate.
Too late to edit: Found them at Nordstrom. Ordered them. Why are you all so eager to have me spend a lot of money??
But you saved so much on the dress!
With a fabulous dress IMHO shoes don’t need to be as equally fabulous. I have several shoes that work with my nice dress (not fabulous but at this point in my life my body is not fabulous either). I will look ‘nice’ - dress, shoes, hair, make up. Blessed to have good hair and good skin, so look good for 60.
Wow on the dresses available at wonderful discounts if you can catch something that works for you. Great job on the dress @veryhappy
Thanks, everyone! I’m quite pleased. Once I get the bra and the shoes settled, I can take it to the tailor and really feel good about it.
Some of us can’t wear fancy shoes because of leg or foot problems, so we live vicariously through those who can.
Some of us also don’t have the figure to wear a dress like yours, @VeryHappy, but it’s fun to imagine what it would be like.
I’m one of those who can’t wear fancy shoes. Short fat feet and since I broke a toe, lots of things are just not comfortable. I recently bought this shoe as a slightly dressy summer shoe and love it. Very comfortable - walked up some San Francisco hills in them! It’s hard to tell but they have some gold flecks. Great arch support. http://www.dillards.com/p/vionic-caballo-cork-pointed-toe-flats/506720457
Well, I’m not sure I’m going to be able to wear them, but thank goodness for Zappos and Nordie’s where I can return them easily!! I figure I’ll wear them in the house for a few hours and see how I feel.
Thanks for the compliment, @Marian.
I think the two things at a wedding worth splurging on are the music and your shoes. If people are up dancing and having a good time, no one will care or remember that the centerpieces were carnations and the filet was a bit overdone.
I wore high Badgley Mischka’ shoes to my oldest S’s wedding and was able to keep them on and dance the whole night. I wore Stuart Weitzman’s to the second S’s with the same result. Mothers, you deserve comfortable shoes!
And splurging on photography is worth it too!
@thumper1, found this, but I think somewhere you mentioned you didn’t want lace? Home Page - DBIlong-mesh-dress-with-lace-cap-sleeves-f19505long-bridesmaid-dresses
If that’s a link…it didn’t come across as a link.
This one?

David’s Bridal has some good stuff. I never knew that until this year.
i don’t think I mentioned it here. @Alumother who I’m not sure posts on CC anymore has a blog called amid privilege. She did a sponsored post on MOG dresses from David’s Bridal a couple of weeks ago. She looked stunning in the dresses. I loved the dresses she featured.
She has a search feature on her blog. I tried to look it up but got that stupid Amazon pop up! I can’t link to blogs but it should be easy to search.
Hi guys! I get an email when someone mentions me here:). I don’t post here these days, got sucked into Twitter, but would be happy to help out. The thing is, Deb, you must be thinking of someone else? I haven’t done a post with David’s Bridals. The closest I came was a post with TerriJon. Also, thanks for letting me know about an Amazon pop-up. That should NOT be happening!
And CONGRATULATIONS @VeryHappy! Best wishes to your son and his partner as well!
