It is from therealreal, and it has never been worn. The dress is very light even with all the sequin. It’s comfortable because the lining is stretchy and soft. In speaking with D1, the photographer is not going to use flash (but others may with with phone). I am going to continue to look, but I feel like I have a backup.
I really like thumper1’s dress. It is dressy/elegant, with a bit of bling, but not too much.

@HImom the little flower strappy sandal you linked is cute…but my dress is lavender…and that flower show wouldn’t match…at all. No lavender in it at all.
@VeryHappy I need to check the front of the dress to see about bra. The back isn’t a problem at all with a regular cut.

@thumper1, great dress! I’m so glad you found the color you’ve been searching for all these months! That Bandolino sandal is what I wore with my navy dress for my S’s wedding. It’s very comfortable, but I agree that it wouldn’t go well with that lavender dress.
Very pretty dress, @oldfort. Finding the dress that looks good and makes you feel good is like winning the lottery! Especially because at many times during the search it felt to me like the odds were as long.

I would not pair a patterned shoe with @thumper1’s dress. The dress has a pattern of its own. A solid silver or nude sandal sounds like a great choice. If there are some already in the closet - yay, if not, I would start looking, especially browsing new with tags Jimmy Choos and Manolos on RealReal.

I think the style of Oldfort dress looks best on my body type. Had not thought of RealReal but it will be worth a look.
I had a conversation with my future daughter in law and she asked was I going to also look for a dress for myself when we go shopping for her dress next weekend. I was surprised at the question since I would never had even considered that since the day should be about her. She also asked if I had thought about what I wanted to wear. I replied that I had not but that I wanted to wait and see what her Mom the MOB was wearing before making any decisions. She told me that she liked what her Mom wore to the wedding of her sister. I looked at photos and it was long and has some beading. That leads me to believe she would prefer us in long. She did say no navy which eliminates half the dresses out there. The venue is a redwood forest but it sounds like they want it to still be elegant.
I have two close friends who have excellent tastes and I will shop with both of them at some point. One of them has a talent of knowing what styles look good on different body types and can get you to try on things that you wouldn’t have considered.
Wedding is now just under 12 months away.
@mom60 you have plenty of time to not only shop/narrow down selection, but hopefully also be able to find a very good price over the time. Merchandise inventory turns over and thus the sales - it seems every couple of months.
I DID think of you when I left the dress for alterations with the LT tailor! They pinned it nicely…and will be shipping the dress to me. If it’s not right…I’ll go to my sort of local LT store…and whine.
But I’m hoping for the best. All they are doing is taking in the torso section of the dress,about 1 1/2 inches in each side. Alterations person says it’s an easy alteration.
I’ll breathe easier when it arrrives here!

@mom60 , did your FDiL say why she requested no navy? Just curious. My D said no black and nothing in the color her MoH is wearing, which pretty much left navy (my choice), grey/silver or purple/lilac (which D dislikes) for autumn, at least in my size.

@thumper1, I’m crossing everything I have in hopes you will avoid my version of alteration hell! My experience should be worth at least a year of MOB/MOG good luck with alterations.

I have LOVED the wisteria color version of that dress ever since it first appeared in navy way back on this thread. Glad to know that someone has it in that lovely color!
